Periodontics - Periodontal Microsurgery - Dental Implantology 

Please visit our state-of-the-art office overlooking Monterey!   We think you will feel right at home.  Dr. Nattkemper has devoted his career to providing his patients conservative, up-to-date therapies that predictably and comfortably correct the effects of periodontal disease.  These treatments include LANAP (Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure), Dermal matrix grafting, connective tissue grafting, non-surgical therapy, the use of growth factors and guided tissue regeneration for rebuilding lost tissues in order to improve your appearance and allow ideal dental implant placement.  He is one of the most highly skilled periodontists in California in  microsurgical procedures which can enhance your health and appearance.    Dr. Nattkemper also specializes in dental implant therapy to help replace teeth lost to disease or trauma.  He has advanced training in precisely and predictably developing bone support, including sinus augmentation and soft tissue mantling around implants to provide the most esthetic, trouble-free results possible.   Dr. Nattkemper is also trained in diagnosis and treatment of oral pathology.  He works closely with the oral pathology faculty at the University of California at San Francisco, his alma mater.

While you're in our office, look around.  Jeff Nixon, a local photographer who worked with Ansel Adams for many years in Yosemite and here on the central coast, provided a beautiful gallery of his work for our patients to enjoy.

We believe that our patients' comfort—and their involvement in choosing treatment that is appropriate and in keeping with their “comfort level”—is critical.  Our mission is to treat every patient as if they were family members or friends, and select treatment options we ourselves would have.

Dr. Nattkemper and his staff work closely as a team with your referring dentist.  However, IT'S NOT NECESSARY TO BE REFERRED BY ANOTHER DENTIST.  We welcome patients who have referred themselves -- for evaluation of any concern, for a great cleaning, for a specific procedure.   More and more over the years, our patients, and friends of patients, refer folks to us.  We love that!!  

We all (especially Dr. Nattkemper) are extraordinarily proud of our staff, composed of caring and dedicated professionals:  

Karen, our office manager, has worked in the dental field for most of her lifetime.  She is capable, personable, organized, professional, and loves to laugh.   In Karen you will find a remarkable measure of experience--including years managing a large group dental practice--as well as an ability to connect with you individually in a caring, helpful and responsible manner.

Yesenia, our office administrator, is the newest member of our team.  She, like Karen, has devoted her career to dentistry.  She works closely with Karen in scheduling care for our patients, insurance billing and details of coordinating complex treatment between your dentist and Dr. Nattkemper.  Yesenia is always upbeat and extremely helpful.  Ask her about her bicycling and fitness regimen--she is amazing!

Debbie, Stacy and Kelly, our hygienists, have been working in the periodontal field throughout their careers (Stacy was previously Dr. Nattkemper's surgical assistant:  Debbie has worked exclusively for Dr. Nattkemper since she completed her hygiene training:  Kelly recently completed hygiene school), regularly receive training in advanced root instrumentation and soft tissue management, and are highly skilled at providing expert care remarkably comfortably.   Debbie, Stacy and Kelly are graduates of the Cabrillo College Dental Hygiene Program, where Dr. Nattkemper has taught since 1995--that is, they were his students before starting in our practice!  

Kellye, our surgical assistant, has trained with Dr. Nattkemper since shortly after completing her assisting training at Monterey Peninsula College.  Kellye's skills,  professional and kind demeanor make for a gentle, totally comfortable experience, every time you are in our office.  

Mae, who takes care of a multitude of "behind the scenes" office activities, is pursuing a career in the medical field.  She is also working to facilitate photography and video recording of microsurgical procedures for Dr. Nattkemper's teaching activities, and on communication with our patients through electronic media.  Mae is also an accomplished dancer and actor.

---We wish Liliana, who has served as our office manager since May of 2012, the very best!  Liliana has decided to go back into the medical field (where she worked for many years before joining our office team).  She brought a wonderful energy and enthusiasm to our office--we will miss her!!!---

All of us take time to listen to your concerns and needs, to educate and explain in English (!) your condition, options of treatment we recommend, and at all times are available to help and address concerns.  Liliana and May are happy to assist with insurance billing and questions, as well as several financing options for care.
